CLASS OF `54/50th
ANNIVERSARY REUNION
ROUNDS THE BEND and HEADS
FOR HOME!
That’s right
kids! It's hard to believe, but we are just six months
away from fulfillment of an idea that developed two years ago and will evolve
into more than three hundred and sixty fellow classmates gathering together on
Saturday evening, June 26, 2004. It's also hard to believe how quickly it is
coming upon us! Some are already calling it "The Mother Of All Reunions," as your committee continues to plan an exciting and memorable event.
THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW:
Dress-Smart/Casual: (Suggestions
for the Ladies) One/two piece dresses,
dressy pant suits, street length dresses. (Suggestions for the Gentleman) Sport shirts, coats, slacks, suit & tie, (no jeans).
Room Reservations: We negotiated a Special Room Rate of $90.06 (includes 14% room tax) per night at the Woodland Hills Hilton and Towers at Warner Center.
Telephone: (818) 595-1000 from 8 am to 5 pm daily (except weekends).
From Overseas Only: email: susy_suescun@hilton.com.
Tell Reservations that you are attending the NHHS Reunion and make sure they
give you the $90.06 per night rate; Thursday, 6/24 through Sunday, 6/27.
Handicapable Rooms: When making reservations, be specific regarding wheelchair access, grab
bars, etc.
Note: The hotel has set aside and will hold 50 guest rooms until June 11,
2004 for our group. After that, guest rooms will be provided only on a space available
basis... so don't dally kids, make your reservations today!
Dinner Meals: You have a
choice of the following:
1. Mixed Grill Duet, consisting of a Grilled Fillet Mignon with a Jack Daniels Demi Glaze and Wild Mushrooms, plus Prawns in a Lemon Caper Beurre Blanc.
2. Pesto Linguine (Vegetarian) consisting of Linguine,
lightly tossed with Pesto Cream and Asparagus Tips and Topped with Diced Roma
Tomatoes and Garnished with Parmesan Crisp.
Meals include Traditional Caesar Salad, Warm Rolls and Butter, Glass of
Wine, Seasonal Fresh Vegetables, Double-Stuffed Baked Potatoes (Mixed Grill
Duet only), Dessert, plus Regular and Decaffeinated Coffee or a Selection of
Tazo Teas.
Important: Attendees will automatically be served the Mixed Grill Duet, unless they
specifically request Vegetarian (for Vegetarian meals please respond no later than June 12th). "Slow mail," telephone or e-mail Nancy (Nathanson) Farris at:
250 Paseo Laredo So., Cathedral City, CA 92234, (760) 770-6888, n36farris@cs.com. Remember, If you
prefer Vegetarian and you don't respond, you will be served Mixed Grill Duet!
Table Reservations: Available for groups of 12
only. "Slow mail," telephone or e-mail Nancy (Nathanson) Farris (see information above). You must provide the full twelve names when making your request for a
reserved table. Upon entering registration, everyone will be provided a
"place saver" (table tent card) so that individuals and
smaller groups will be able to secure (save) their seats once the dining
room has opened.
Hotel Parking: If attending the reunion
and not staying overnight, Valet Parking is $6.00 per car/plus tip. If staying
overnight at the hotel, Valet Parking is $8.00 per car, per day/plus tip.
Self-Parking in the parking structure is available at $10.00 per car, per day
regardless if staying over or not.
Current Registration Fee: Before registration fees
face another increase, we urge those of you who have not sent in your money to
do so TODAY! Make your check of $120.00 per person payable to: NHHS Class of
`54 Reunion. Mail to Jerry Bruce, Treasurer, c/o the above address.
Two Week Cut-Off for Pre-Registration is June 12, 2004-Please Read
Carefully! If you show up at the door without a paid registration, you will not receive
a pre-printed photo-name badge. All other reunion amenities will be provided.
As an incentive to pre-register, the at-the-door charge will contain an additional
$25.00 scholarship supplement, per person, payable to the NHHS Scholarship
Fund as a contribution to the school. The steering committee has established
these requirements to favor and protect those who have paid their registration
fees in a timely manner.
In addition, the hotel requires a two week (prior to function) meal
count and guarantee, to purchase the food and prepare our dinner. If classmates
show up at the door without having pre-paid their registration fees it would
cause an unnecessary inconvenience to the hotel and likely, a shortage of
dinners (that would
affect those who paid their registration fees in a timely fashion).
Pre-Reunion Memory Rush: Our class cyber photo album continues to grow.
The only thing that you have to do is register at classmates.com to see it. After you've
registered, visit our web site at www.nhhs54.org and click on the
"paw link" that says Reunion Photo Album and enjoy. Then go to the
other links at the site and read all about your classmates and the reunion!
Please sign the guest book with your comments before leaving!
SHARE A SPECIAL EVENING
WITH YOUR FELLOW CLASSMATES!
(Not:
All registrations received after we’ve gone to press will be listed in our next
and final mailer)
